I've build a 4 axis hotwire cutter ( cheap but working) and is currently using winxp and foamworks. could I switch over to emc? and how. I need the 4 axis to cut wings. I would also like to late convert the machine for routing as well, since I've got 2 of the 3 axis for that already.

I've
built
a foam cutter with a special mechanics, which needs kinematic transformation.
see here .
Unfortunately the doc is in german language .
If you have a traditional linear axis mechanic, the hal and ini may work for you as well, just don't use the kinematic transformer.
Which SW are you going to use to create the nc files ?
