Hello, Blender CAM is a new CAM addon for the open source software Blender. Blender CAM is also open source.
see more info and download here:
blendercam.blogspot.cz/

I am looking for people who are willing to:
1.test
2.help with EMC exporter
3.Complie the needed Python Polygon and numpy libraries so the binary can be distributed on more distros, or at least linuxcnc and/or ubuntu.
4. Donations ;)

It's artistic CAM, optimized for highly complex meshes, but not totally precise.

Looking for your feedback ;)

Also, could anybody with proper login rights add Blender CAM to Linux CNC wiki to the list of open source CAM software?

Have you asked on the IRC channel? I think that at least one person (mattymatt) is using Blender and CAM.

Also, could anybody with proper login rights add Blender CAM to Linux CNC wiki to the list of open source CAM software?

Anyone at all can edit the Wiki, you just need to follow the instructions here:http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?BasicSteps

Thanks for hint regarding wiki, I added blender CAM to the end of the list of open source CAM software.

Ahaha!
I've been using Blender for 6 years for a bit of everything.
Also I've used Meshcam for about a year, so I'll test it, and see where that goes.
I don't code at all, but I'm rather comfortable within the GUI.

Hello, I just want to note that I added an update.
The output should now be readable by LinuxCNC,
I would like to know if that is true, since I didn't still manage to setup LinuxCNC on my machine...
blendercam.blogspot.cz/2013/04/update-022.html

Also, I would be glad if somebody would compile the needed python libraries - Polygon and Numpy for Python 3.3. and make a working linux build by the instructions provided on my site...

thanks, enjoy.

Hello, a new version is on-line.
It fixes some bugs, and I hope the LinuxCNC (aka still EMC) exporter is better now.

Did anybody manage to have it working under Linux? I am so curious about this... There is now a working Mac copy.

Hi iccha
I tried the last Blender Cam 0.3.0 on windows but it bombed on producing G code and the computer just hung. I haven"t been able to load Blender Cam on linux 12.04 Precise yet. So have not yet been able to test anything on LinuxCNC yet, but will give 0.4.0 a go in about two or three weeks time.
