selecting cam for a plasma was created by lfjill
Do somebody can guide me to select a cam software for a plasma machine? There are more than 50 programs in wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Cam
If someone had a good experience with a free licence CAM for a plasma cutting application, I would thank a lot to know wich is that or those programs. I want to rebuild an original photoscope equipment but now with stepper motors.

I have never tried PyCam.
SheetCam allows many options on cut paths such as lead in and lead out just for plasma.

Try it? It doesn't cost anything. I have used it, and it seems OK, but desperately slow for 3D work. It is OK for 2D.
