I just incorporated Sebastian Jardi Estadella's addition into Arc Buddy 1.5. Finally it might be useful to someone. You can add it to Gedit Tools and when hand writing code open it up to generate the G code for an arc.

Hey John,
That is pretty neat, I will have to give it a try.

I uploaded 1.6 this morning with a couple of small improvements. I drew out a quick sketch on some paper with some radius corners and in less than 2 minutes I had running G code! I'm impressed that Arc Buddy actually can do something useful now. All I had to add was the Z down and up moves and any positioning moves and I was done.

Well done JT, now have it working.
For info, the process with Debian is not quite as easy as Ubuntu.
First you have to fetch gedit, it is not installed by default.
Then install the package gedit-plugins
Go to Edit > Preferences > Plugins and enable External Tools
Close gedit and re-open and choose Tools > Manage External Tools
Now the rub
The dialog looks just like the snippets manager, but I was unable to add any commands.
As I will never use gedit to launch a terminal, I edited that command to open arcbuddy and changed the Output field to 'Insert at cursor position'
Now it works
regards
PS
Naughty naughty, someone has been using Satans software! The file is littered with ^Ms
