HSMExpress was created by BigJohnT
I edited the post processor for the free HSMExpress to remove the useless line numbers and percent signs and renamed it linuxcnc.

Does this post processor also work with Inventor HSM? I have been using it with my router I plan on using it with my mill once I get it finished.

I have no idea, I had to remove Hmsexpress from my machine because it slowed down SolidWorks too much.

When on the topic of HSMExpress/Works, how do people set up their tool libraries? I've never used tool libraries and offsets before as I didn't have enough toolholders.
For example:
Tool 1 = Probe, Offset = 0
Tool 2 = Face Mill, Offset = -30
Tool 3 etc..
Is that how you normally do it?
And then set the same tool numbers in express/works?

use one or the other not both , i prefer to have offsets in the cam software , that leaves the tool table in linuxcnc as empty values or 0.0
and then use the tooltable for wear offsets only .
this way you'll never have the gcode specifc , and can move around different machines or operations
if you try as add the information to both the cam and the tooltable in linuxcnc , you'll end up adding the values , which of course is totally wrong

Hey BigJohn, what CAM solution did you move to? I'm evaluating different solutions at the moment and Delcam and HSM both seem well integrated into Solidworks.
Thanks!
