I operate Lubuntu 64 Bit 18.04.2 LTS on my desktop and Debian 7 32 Bit for LinuxCNC on my turret mill.
At my local Mens Shed, we use CamBam for our small engraver/router and I find it quite reliable (for our small jobs).
CamBam recently released Version 1.0 for Linux, and they note Ubuntu as one of the targets.
I would develop code on the desktop, then transfer the file to the mill.
Can anyone comment on how successful their CamBam installation and resultant GCode experiences have been.
Thanks in advance,
John.

I haven't used CamBam for a while, and when I did it was on my Mac.
And, as there is a Mac version of Fusion 360 I have taken to using that.
(Though I feel that I ought to use FreeCAD on a philosophical level).
Maybe you are the guinea-pig here with Linux CamBam?

Never had an issue. Not registered so limited to number of lines.
Usually just have a single file for each operation then either run them one at a time or put them in one big file by hand.

Got CamBam installed without any problems.
I have done several simple jobs, and cannot find any real faults.
Considering registering.
Using the online viewer NC Viewer to check tool moves.
Seems like a great tool.
But, good tools don't prevent inattention crashing the machine.
I used to have a new 12 mm end mill, confusion about G90 and G91 binned it.
John.

Stumbled upon this thread based in frustration.
I was able to install cambam painlessly (ubuntu budgie 19.10) but now that I am trying to start the work it freezes constantly.

I'm running Mint 18.3 and CamBam 1.0, haven't had any issues with crashes or anything. Try the CamBam forums.
