Step through the process from the idea to the finished piece was created by Giuseppe
Hi at all, my machine is ready for the first cut. I tried some examples from linuxcnc and whant to go on with my own sample.
I have to say that is not so easy. I use various programs, inkscape, fusion 360, sheetcam. but no matter what i use in every program something else does not work.
Apparently there is no suitable post processor for Plasmac in fusion 360. in sheetcam I fail with the missing tool
Can some one give me a short walktrough how to make a first testjob?
By the way, what is the postprocessor doing? what does linuxcnc do? Sometimes I think there are things that can be set in the cam program and in linuxcnc too.
That confuses me.

The CAD package makes a model of the part.
The CAM converts that part in to G-code commands for the CNC machine
LinuxCNC interprets the G-code and moves the motors to make the part.
And, yes, some things can be done in either CAM or LinuxCNC. Tool diameter compensation, for example.

ok thank you. in the meantime i bought sheetcam.
i load a dxf into it and make teh gcode. I used the postprocessor
LinuxCNC PlasmaC Ver. 0.2 that comes with sheetcam.
It starts well in linuxcnc the cutting process stoped after a few time with this errors.
sea picture attached.
Whats the problem?
at the moment every path the toarch makes a touch off. can i reduce this only at the start of the whole project only one time?
