Solidcam post for turning was created by Masiwood123
hi guys does anyone use solidcam for lathes? I use it for milling and I have no problems there. Here, I am bothered by why gcode duplicates the x coordinates, given that my ``working zero'' is in the center of rotation, model. Real model is above 50(54mm cylinder .. x should be 25mm than so it goes towards zero, or more because stock diagonals. but in the gcode it is x80+ to x12mm ( axis directions on my lathe positioned exactly like this in the picture.Thank you

You are using G7 (Lathe Diameter Mode) on you gcode, So the X coordinate is expressed in diameter of the part.

I saw that in practice it's good, just because it's my first time using a lathe it was a little strange, it's good that you told me it's G7, thanks a lot

today I gave birth to a bear..since I combined two operations in gcode, the first one that makes a hole like g17 and the second one that makes an outer contour (put in gcode G7)..however linux sees both operations as g7 so it doesn't make a round hole for me but an ellipse , divide x by 2. Is there a way to make the first operation (see the hole normally, and in the following line to read the lathe operation, with G7) not worth doing separate operations, but would like to place everything in one file? thanks

You can work on radius mode putting a G8 on the desired code portion, and after you can work on diameter mode again by placing a G7.

The G8 does the job, it's a round hole now, thank you very much. but I'll have to do it in two separate operations, it's too thin and the processing is bad.. today I successfully made a small adapter for the tailstock that will hold when I do the outer contour...
