I think I'll hold off on Pycam. I like open source, but this one isn't quite ready for someone who only has half a clue.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I just went through this and in case others come searching for the answer:
None of the release versions of PyCam will work nicely with Mint 21. However if you pull it off git, then it works relatively ok:

cd pycam
./pycam/run_gui.py
