Overshoot problem was created by SKH
Hi, We are using LinuxCNC on a 6 axis robotic arm. After homing when we try to move it to a specific point it always goes beyond the point. We checked each axis one by one. It looks like each axis has the same problem. It happens both in the running state and jogging state. We tried lowering the speed and adjusting the acceleration values. But it didn't work. What would be the problem???

Below image shows what happens when one axis moves between two specific points again and again.

Are you sure the SCALE for each axis is correct?

Is this a step motor system? Are you sure your not just missing steps?

How are the drives interfaced?

is the scale correct, how much is the error (shift) for each move?

If using step/dir i would suspect the step timing, voltage levels or noise

if this is a servo system with encoder feedback to LinuxCNC, i would suspect noise in the encoders signals
