Ini variable [----]---- not found, yet ini there was created by famus
Could anyone help me with my error "Ini variable '[EMCMOT]EMCMOT' not found." when I ran command prompt halrun the a.hal file, even though I have the .ini file that has
[HAL]
HALFILE = a.hal
It worked once, not I couldn't get it to work.

If you are using halrun you need to pass it the name of the INI file directly.
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/man/man1/halrun.1.html
halrun -i my_ini.ini
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/man/man1/halrun.1.html
halrun -i my_ini.ini
