Looking for the lowest cost Motherboard with LPT to run LinxuCNC was created by Perkins
Hello,
I am working on developing a machine tool that I would like to go into production with someday. I'm trying to put a cost estimate together and I've been looking for the lowest cost motherboard with a parallel port that can run LinuxCNC.
So far, this is the most affordable Mobo I could find: www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item...13157497&ignorebbr=1
Does anyone else have any good recommendations? For the project I'm doing the cost is absolutely critical since I'm looking to compete mostly on a low cost offering.
Thanks in advance!
Bob

Intel Pentium G3260 Haswell
GIGABYTE GA-H81M-S2PH
This is what I use... You will have to find it elsewhere because New egg is out of stock. The Intel H81 Chipset works well with Preemptive or RTAI kernels.

You could consider Machinekit and the Beagle Bone
I don't know how this compares to building a system:
