MPG in metric - how to change to inches?

I have a cnc router with 2.8 master installed on Wheezy. Everything seems to work well except the MPG. It's probably some stupid mistake I made, but the jog increments with the MPG are in metric (verified with an indicator on all 3 axis').

I've checked and verified X, Y, and Z move as commanded in MDI and with the jog buttons in both GMOCCAPY and AXIS make incremental moves in inches.

My router was originally configured with the PnCConf wizard and I looked over the HAL file, but I don't see anything wrong. I'm using a cheap, handheld MPG that I got off ebay. Most MPGs are 100 count, maybe mine is different? Is there a location in the INI or HAL file to change the counts?

I think the problem might be that the encoder counter your using is reading quadrature counts, and the encoder is 100 line counts. (you need to increase your scale by x4)

Set your hm2_5i25.0.encoder.05.scale to what ever makes it work out right for you.

So, I should add the lines below to the hal file?

setp hm2_5i25.0.encoder.05.counter-mode 0
setp hm2_5i25.0.encoder.05.scale 400
