HBS860H 12NM VS iHSV60 for Router 3000x2000mm was created by Tavares
iam building a 3000x2000 i want to buy the motors, but today i saw this iHSV60 400w integrated and now I'm in doubt between these motors and drivers

In general,
For plasma use steppers
Anything else use servos if you can afford them and the time it takes to tune and make them work properly.

That will make 18.nn CM of move for one rotation so you will need a lot of reduction to make that useful.
How heavy will the gantry be ?

This is my michine, extruded aluminum, with steel plates, take a look.
First i think direct drive the gantry, later on i will buy some planetary gearbox, thats why iam thinking in big motor.
i cant understand the diference between hbs860h 12nm and ihsv60
both use 400w power supply this let me think both are 400w... they have the same power?

Hi,
I'm just on something similar. I can say planetary gearbox can not have radial force. And with rack and pinon calculate the pitch. I have 100mm pitch and can only 5: 1 set with timing belt. Total 20mm pitch but 20m / min rapid feed. And there is not enough of the 400W servo. I have go to 750W.
A gearbox is not an option. The gearbox is more expensive than the bigger servo.
Ballscrew is over 1 meter in length is also not an option or you take the industry quality. Heavy decision and expensive at the end.

For the pinions you have, the minimum reduction should be 1:10 for a stepper system and 1:15 for a servo system.

I can not see it, it just lets me download it, but i do not use windows so no way of opening it.sketchup ]My Machine

Direct driving a pinion that does over 18CM per rotation is not going to work with any of those motors, the 860 is a stepper motor drive driving a 12NM motor that will cause extreme vibrations of the machine but it should have enough power, the 400W servo will have to spin very slowly with that pinion so it will not have enough power and will constantly overheat trying to get in position or just never reach it.First i think direct drive the gantry, later on i will buy some planetary gearbox, thats why iam thinking in big motor.
The first should be a Stepper system, the second is a servo system. The power thing is not quite equal here as stepper motor do have more torque than servos, but they can not spin fast as they loose that torque at anything above 200RPM while servo motors spin easily to 2000 or 3000RPM. Also steppers have more power for the same size.i cant understand the diference between hbs860h 12nm and ihsv60

Now its clear... i will go with hybrid stepper, i dont need super speed, i was thinking planetary 1:5, 30t M2 at rapids it can get 30m/min.
i dont know.... i will test later maybe 20teeth.... i will buy now wish me luck
