He needs moving the Z axis while it is cutting.
On the old config you could add two momentary buttons connected to the parallel port inputs.
For PlasmaC, maybe something can be done with hal/pyvcp or similar.

That can be done in any normal config, or it is already in the thc_toma config with the benefit of probing for the material.
THC configs should be just that, THC configs.
On the other hand, adding two buttons and the hal lines should not be that hard for him.
