Single Ended Signaling from 7i76ED was created by Hamel2020
Hi ,,,

As I know that mesa 7i76e give a differential signal for (pulse and direction) to control the servo motor speed and direction , my question is : I have a servo drive needs a single ended signal to communicate with servo motor , can I get it from mesa , if yes , how the grounding will be ?
If some one have an idea , will be very helpful ..

thanks

For single ended, you just use one output:

Common ground = common cathode = Step+, Dir+ and ground pin

Common +5V = common anode = Step-, Dir- and 5V pin

The unused differential outputs are left unconnected

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for your support ...
I have to supply a single -ended analog signal , and I have to use the TB2 form my Mesa card ,,,
my question is : how can I get an analog signal form TB2 ,
since the stp/dir signal is ( digital ??)

Thanks

What kind of analog signal do you need?
That is what range and precision do you need?

Is this for a spindle?

OK so unfortunately its pretty awkward to just add support for a single
analog drive/encoder to a 7I76E. you could add a 7I83 for analog out
but you would need another daughter card to add an encoder input
(assuming the 7I76Es encoder is already dedicated to the spindle)
