Problems downloading Live ISO was created by BMG
User from years ago. Stopped using when work interfered and old compaq desktop failed to reboot.
Preparing to renew my 3 axis router with new cards and a replacement computer. In attempting to get a usable computer I was following the live iso download instruction page and using the link on that page (linuxcnc.org/docs/html/getting-started/getting-linuxcnc.html) under instruction 1.1.
When I attempt to download the ISO, I get a window that states that local temp file (dir path + rnd file name + .iso.part) could not be saved because the source file could not be read. Try again later or contact the administrator.
Is there another location to source the Live ISO to test on some desktops I have available?
Thanks.

That is an issue with your PC, not with the download.
Download works properly, just tested it.
If using Linux to download, that points to permissions being set wrong or trying to save to a folder not belonging to the loged in user.
For windows, i have no clue.

Thanks for the quick reply and verifying that the location and download is good.
Yes I am attempting to download the iso using a firefox browser on a windows machine.
Gonna try and plow through and figure this out. I do not have a linux machine anymore to access the site. Trying to get a new one up and running.

Guys
Thanks for your quick responses.
After some searching I found that Firefox and other browsers can have problems downloading the files giving the error I encountered.
I followed the directions for zsync for windows. After some trial and error I finally was able to download the live ISO.
Used the following command line to properly download the iso
C:\Users\House\Downloads\zsync www.linuxcnc.org/iso/linuxcnc-2.8.2-buster.iso.zsync
The zsync executables were still in my download folders and added the correct path in order for windows to find zsync.
Burning the iso to a USB as I type using rufus.
Next - time to order either pico or mesa stepper boards and get rid of this hobbyCNC pro board for good.
