USB Pendant Preventing Booting

Hi all,

This is my first post and I'm hoping someone here can help me. I'm running LinuxCNC on an ASUS Q1900B-ITX motherboard. It's been running fine. I just added a P2-S USB Pendant from VistaCNC. The pendant works great except I can't boot with it plugged into the USB port. If I plug it in after booting, all is well.

If it is plugged in while booting, I see the GRUB loader and then I get messages similar to this:
[ 8.12345678] CPU1: Not responding.
[16.12345678] CPU2: Not responding.
etc.

Can anyone help?

Yes, I looked in the BIOS and the only bootable device listed is the SSD.

I have exactly the same MB and pendant. Always works fine, with no boot issues.

Make sure that Fast Boot is disabled and Wake from Lan is disabled. I have a hard drive rather than an SSD, but that should not matter.

It has been quite a while, but I believe everything else related to boot is still default.

I checked and both Fast Boot and Wake from Lan are disabled.

I bought a USB hub with switches for each port. I have to leave the pendant switched off until after boot, then turn it on before starting the LinuxCNC app.

Obviously, this is not ideal, but I'm running out of ideas!
