PIcked up a XHC-WHB04B-4, which is the 4-axis MPG variant. I've seen a lot of discussion about the XHC-WHB04B-6, the 6 axis version.
My issue, before worrying even about udev or HAL or anything... constant USB disconnects.
1. Plug in USB receiver
2. I can see it pop up
Code:
[43452.581325] usb 1-1: new full-speed USB device number 29 using xhci_hcd
[43452.730338] usb 1-1: New USB device found, idVendor=10ce, idProduct=eb93, bcdDevice= 0.00
[43452.730344] usb 1-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0
[43452.738671] usb 1-1: language id specifier not provided by device, defaulting to English
[43452.747518] hid-generic 0003:10CE:EB93.001D: hiddev0,hidraw3: USB HID v1.00 Device [HID 10ce:eb93] on usb-0000:00:14.0-1/input0
3. Let it idle a bit. As soon as I interact with the MPG, the USB device disconnects.
Code:
[43487.549523] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 29
4. In another few seconds, the device will reconnect.
5. Rinse and repeat over and over.
I've tried it on 2 PC's (one was windows), and this is on the USB port directly on the back of the motherboard. My initial thought it faulty hardware obviously, possibly drawing more then 500mA, could be blowing the soft-fuse and cycling over and over.
Before opening a dispute with the vendor, just want to check if anyone else came across this.
