Is there topic/docu page where LinuxCNC's supported axis types are explained?

I'm thinking about robot design, which looks little bit like 3d printer above, but  with fixed table and 360deg turning "tower". Does that type of model have specific name, so I could find more info?

Thanks!

LinuxCNC can support any sort of axis layout through kinemtatics modules.
However, what you show in the image is a simple cartesian setup.

Your verbal description sounds a little like a SCARA robot. LinuxCNC has a demo config of one, with a graphical representation of the robot.

Look under sim/axis/vismach/scara
