looks like a bug in linuxcnc?

Notice the error window in the attached screenshot where I'm trying to run a subroutine from an external file.
It looks like a error created when extracting the subroutine name from the .ngc file that contains it, the first character of the subroutine is not any character that I recognize.  This code exists in General LinuxCNC Questions as part of pocketing program and
the .png file there was made on linuxcnc12.04 LTS.  The window overlapping linuxcnc shows the Debian kernel being used.
