Does pncconf support the 7i70 and 7i64 when connected to a 5i23?

Thanks

It can. It needs the XML file for the 5i23's firmware which you probably don't have.
If you send me the firmware .PIN file I could hand build one for you.
What version of linuxcnc are you using ? I recommend the 2.5 from buidbot as it has the latest bugfixes.

Here are links to the pin and bit file. I am running 2.5 now.

freeby.mesanet.com/svss8_8.pin
freeby.mesanet.com/svss8_8.bit

7i33 on P2
7i44 on P4

7i64 on port 0
7i64 on port 1
7i70 on port 2

Thanks

Try this file. (unzip it of course)
You must put it in the /lib/firmware/hm2/5i23 folder
You need sudo rights to do that.
An easy way is to open a terminal and type sudo nautilus

it will ask your password then open a sudo file browser.

The 7i44 will be connected to the 5i23's P4 connector.
In PNCconf on I/O connector 4 you will see the sserial channels 0,1,2,3 and 4 (5-7 are not available in PNCconf presently)
select the cards on each channel and make sure the cards are connected to the same channels on the 7i44.
The 7i64 is nice as it has LED output so you can see if it works with out connected any field wires..

let me know of any problems.

Chris

The 7i70 tab 0 lists inputs and tab 1 lists outputs.

Both of these should be inputs.

it seemd you need the buildbot version of 2.5 it has the current bug fixes.

Are you using the released version of linuxcnc?

7i64 looks right

The file should be SVSS though not SSSV. it is putting it backwards in the hal file on the firmware line.

Im running the released version of 2.5

Do i need to go to 2.6 pre?

Thanks

Sorry - Rename the XML file (you need sudo rights to do that.)

No you need 2.5 but the latest version - the released version is quite behind now.
2.6 pre has most of the fixes just not the very latest (2.5 is not always merged to 2.6 immediately)
So either use git and build from source or use buildbot to download the pre compiled version of 2.5
Unfortunately the buildbot is down right now.

Or just hand edit from this starting point :)

Are there other issues that the newest 2.5 will solve?
If its nothing major I will just hand edit the file.

Thanks
