PncConf 7i43 Axis Motor Test/Tune error

Hello,

The motor test / tuning works well in PncConf with 5i20 cards, but Iit gives error messages with 7i43 cards.

like this : (....line 9097, in update_tune_axis_params halrun.flush() IOError [Errno 32] Broken pipe)

I suppose those error messages can be easily eliminated with little effort, making the motor testing very easy for 7i43 cards too.
If it requires a lot of work or rewriting hundreds of code lines then my estimation is wrong...:)

Of course I am willing to help in bug hunting.

Thanks for support in advance.

Regards:
James

Hey James.

Thanks for reporting.
I need to know a couple things...
first what version of linuxcnc are you using?
second if you run PNCconf in a terminal and get that message you will see the actual HAL error message, which will help pinpoint the fix.

Hi Chris,

LinuxCNC version: 2.5.1-28-gea820a7

and the messages from console:

halscope: could not find thread: 'THREAD (null)'
halscope: could not set horizontal multiplier: 'HMULT 1'
halscope: config file 'autosave.halscope' caused 2 warnings
<stdin>:19: setp requires 2 arguments, 1 given

This was generated when I clicked on "Test/Tune Axis" button.
Later, when I click on "Enable" or "+" or "-" buttons then there is a popup windows with the messages like I mentioned, but nothing else comes up in the console.

Hi Chris,

Is this information is enough for debugging, or do I need to provide further infos?

Of course if there is another reason why there was no response, then please forget this message.

OK I changed my mind can you send me your config pncconf file (not the config it's self)?
I really need to build a cable for my 7i43.... :)
Was this a stepper machine?

Hi Chris,

This was a stepper config.
The link to the file: pncconf

I tried the stepper tune only on X axis, but I suppose the situation is similar with Y and Z too.
