there's 2 port in physical estop button one is connected ground of power supply
and another one is connected input0 in 7i76.
I set hal file for external estop. as I know nothing to do with more..
I dont know what is wrong..
when I launched linuxcnc I couldn't change estop button status in left top of the program window.
please have look at my hal file and give me some advice for this situation.
thanks,
Byoungil

what type of switch are you using ? , is it a nc type ( normaly closed contact )
as this is an estop the convention is to use a nc switch
remove the -not as it does not need to be inverted

Actually for a NC switch the 7I76 input pin should be inverted,
but you must supply +voltage to the 7I76 input so
+24V --> NC Estop switch pin 1 --> NC Estop switch pin 2 --> 7I76input and other hardware that should be disabled by estop
With this setup , the normal situation is that the 7I76 input is high but goes low on estop so the inverted pin is needed

Thats right, though the blue wire may go to other hardware estop logic

For example the blue wire might go to a relay that removes power from axis drives/spindle
when the estop button is hit
(note that if a relay coil and 7I76 input are connected the relay coil must have a flyback diode to prevent high voltage spikes)
