Ok converting a Brother TC-211 from conversational to Linuxcnc. I ran the pncconfig and have 1 axis (z) hooked upto a 5i25-7i77 card. And got an error.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/pncconf", line 9479, in on_jogplus_pressed
self.update_axis_params()
File "/usr/bin/pncconf", line 9469, in update_axis_params
halrun.flush()
IOError: [Errno 32] Broken pipe

I am totally lost. New to linux and electronics. Just trying to update this machine.
You can see where I am in

any help would be appericated.
Also anyone in new england that might be interested in coming around to help, I may be able to afford some "Tech time"

If you run pncconf from a terminal, then the true error will be displayed. broken pipes errors are usually HAL pin errors.

In this case I may just guess that you might not have the power to the 5i25/7i77 properly.
If the 7i77 is not powered some of the pins don't get created and then HAL/ Pncconf errors.

If you run from the terminal and paste the error message here I could confirm.
