Yeah... well, they had them.... and the price was ok. But what ruined it for me was the shipping.
They insisted on FedEx at $71.... no other alternatives for shipping.
But I found them on another site that I have bought hard to get components from before: utsource.net.
The components were cheaper and they charged only $4 for shipping, and $25 for expedited shipping with FedEx..... which I don't need. So everything ended up at $17.50, shipping and all.
Since the cards I toasted are considered as lost I don't have that much too loose by trying to rescue them. It will be a little trial and error with SMD soldering. But I have seen videos on how to do it on youtube that made me quite confident I will be able to pull it off. I will borrow my friend’s hot air equipment. The question is whether I toasted other components as well. I guess I will find out in some days when I get the components.
