7i43 vs 5i25

Hi All,

I'm planning to migrate from 5i25 + 7i76 (step gen, IO and spindle control) + 7i73 (pendant) to 7i43 (7i43-U-4 - USB/Parallel 48 I/O 400K FPGA) + 7i47 (step gen, IO) + 7i73 (pendant).

Pros of 7i43 is to use internal flat cable from mainboard (internal lpt connector) to 7i43 in the same enclosure and eliminate any pci cards to just fix the mainboard to plate.

But I'm losing the spindle control of the 7i76.

Here few questions:
1) Can I expect the same step gen performance of 5i25+7i76 using a 7i43 400k + ?
2) Is it possibile connect connect the 7i43 to the 7i76 to use its spindle control and then step gen and IO? Using adaptor?
3) I have a Inverter TOSHIBA VF-S11S 2007 PL-WP 0.75kW, is it supported by VFS11 VFD Driver (www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/drivers/VFS11.html) ?
4) How to connect 7i73 to 7i47 and configure it?

I will do a custom configuration for 7i43 to add 2 sserial on the second port (24 to 47)
I will try to connect just the 2 sserial (4 pins) from 7i43 to 7i76 (pin 7 to pin 10). The first sserial should work for 7i76 I/O and the second one should be the sserial exposed in screw terminal.

just to be sure, source code from 7i43.zip from mesanet.com is the correct source to use? It contains the hm2epp.xise. I did not found the hm2epp.xise in hostmot2-firmware.git (git.linuxcnc.org).
