Hi All,
I'm getting ready to connect my 7i47 to stepper drive.
I have 3 step drive Leadshine DM556 that permits differential connection as schema below:

What I am pretty sure, I can use rs422 differential signal from 7i47 (inverted [-] and not inverted [+] ) as rappresented in the schema.

Questions:
1) Is it correct that rs422 differential is compatible with DM556 differential connection?
2) If I use differential signals as described above, can I extend cable's length? Example: drives in a box and 7i47 in another box using a couple of meter cable?

Thats basically right but you need to connect the 7I47 /TX outputs to the drives + inputs

cables of 10M or more should be fine

Check the power up polarity to get the enable polarity correct
(so its disabled at power up which also means it will be disabled at a watchdog bite))
also these inputs are often _DISABLE_ inputs on the drives

For your experience, could be a good choice to use RJ45 UTP/STP cables for differential driver signal? Example to use a rj45 (female)/screw terminal adapter on each side?
