Hi im unable to do necesary setting in pncconfig.
i have flashed my 5i25 card several times with different firmware,im using a7i77 card and flashed the first time with 5i25_7i77x2.bit and did a
reload and a verify and everyting seems ok.
but i cant choose "pwm generators and some fields are greyed out.
i flashed with a nother .bit file just to se if there was be any difference but there wasnt so im back with the first firmware(5i25_7i77x2.bit).
Any ideas on my problem?

my system are debian wheezy linuxcnc 2,7 uppgraded to 2,7,4

pncconf does not look at the card at all (you can run it without a FPGA card)

Did you select 5i25/77x2 internal config and then "accept changes"?

please try the 5i25 internal 7i77x2 or 7i77x2 with one 7i77.

hi i have reinstalled the entire system just to be sure and updated to linuxcnc 2.7.4. with synaptic.
i have added these files :5i25_desc.zip and 5i25_xml.zip into the correct folders after unzippin them.
i have also tried my hdd in a different computer and the problem still remains,,,, pncconfig wount let me assign any pwm generators.
if i change to a completly different "bord and firmware" like 5122-1.5 and firmware sv-16 then im allowed to change to the number of pwm generators that i like and then "accept component changes" and go from there.

ANY IDEAS?

system are :Dell optiplex 380
:bios:A06
debian wheezy (usb stick install)
linuxcnc 2.7.4
mesa 5i25 and 7177

strange this works fine with 2.7.4 for me:
Here are the exact steps I used:

launch pncconf
click start
click forward
click forward
click forward
(Board name shows "5i25-internal data")
(Firmware shows 7i76x2-With One 7i76}
select 7i77x2-With One 7i77 in Firmware select box
click "Accept components Changes"
at this point 4 I/O tabs appear on top of page: I/O Connector 2, I/O Connector 3. 7I77 I/O (SS#0). 7I77 PWM (SS#1)

Wait are you trying to adjust the amount of pwm gens available?
If you are using the 7i77 then you probably won't be able to do that.

What are you ultimately try to do?

yes that was what i was trying to do,and i cant and im not supposed to do that i know that now.But i did find any info on the matter
then . It dosent matter now because ive got the servos spinning(ITS ALIVE, ITS ALIVE)today but so far only "open loop test"
when i start linuxcnc and enable it servos run away but that was expected sins i havent got around to do any PID tuning yet.

My head is aching at the moment from all the parameters and setting so ill leave it alone a few days and then ill try to do some PID tuning, wich seems to be someting of a black art.

thanks for your support and patiens.

It's a bug but not a too serious one.
There is little reason to set the number of pwmgens if you are actually using the 7i77 card.
The 7i77 requires the number of pwm gens.
If you only have one card and wish to use the other connector for GPIO then try using the 7i77x2 with one one 7i77 firmware.
