MESA 5i25, 7i77, 7i84 and Gmoccapy was created by RotarySMP
Just getting started on my controller set up, to integrate a MESA 5i25, 7i77, 7i84 and Gmoccapy.
Since Gmoccapy is not an option in PNCconf, which GUI should I take to have the least work correcting the HAL when I switch to Gmoccpy? Axis?
Which firmware do I use?
"7i77_7i76" , "7i77x2" or "7i77 with one 7i77"? Sound to me like the last one is correct.
Under Sanity checks, the 7i84 is not listed. Which base frequencies for PWM and PDM does this card need? I can't find anything on this in the MESA 7i84 manual.

When I was setting up my system (5i25, 7i85s, 7i84), I found the 7i84 when setting up the sserial pins on the 7i85s.

The standard firmware for a 5I25+7I77 is 5i25_7i77x2.bit
This should be already installed on the 5I25 if it was purchased with the 7I77
The 7I84 has neither PWM or PDM so there are no sanity checks
You can use gmoccapy by changing a few lines in the .ini file

Thanks for the support. This forum is excellent.
I also found the 7i84 a couple of tabs further on. Thanks.
If 5i25+7i77 is preinstalled on the 5i25 ( should be, I bought MESA's Plug n go kit), since this option is not listed in the PNCconf drop down list, which one should I select? The only ones listed were "7i77_7i76" , "7i77x2" or "2x7i77 with one 7i77".
I went through last night and completed a PNCconf config, but the configuration wouldnt launch. It errors out when I tried to run it. I'll try again tonight. Does the output side of the 7i77 need to be powered with its field power during the set up? Does the 7i84 need to be attached? Mine wasn't.

All sserial devices that have separate field power
(7I77 and 7I84 in this case) and are accessed in the hal file
need to have field power applied before LinuxCNC starts
