Hi Guys,

i am new in this Group.

I hope u can help me out. i converted a Manual Mill to CNC and run it quite a while no faults or problems until last week.
Standard 5i25 /7i76 Config.
When i started Linux CNC it shows me " no mesa found.." so i typed in mesa flash and it shows me that theres a card in but no config.

-> empty FPGA ?!
After that i unplugged plugged back -> started EMC -> worked until yesterday.

Yesterday was the same and i repeated everything and worked good, i run a cycle and in the middle of it serial errors and stuff popped up and no communication was given, after that the machine stopped. There are no lights on the 5i25 and the Cable is good.

Is it more a PC Problem or a Card Issue?!?

Thx for help!!!

Got a spare power supply? some of the mesa cards are sensitive to low power.
i had a system that ran put the card didn't work properly. on suggestion I changed the power supply and that was the issue.
If you have a spare - easy check.

Computer.
Field power can influence missing pins on launch (field power is required for the pins to be made).

I would just temporarily swap out the power supply if you have one handy just to see if that helps.
It could be many other things.

That sounds like either a bad 5I25 or bad PCI slot since the card is found but
is not accessible with normal PCI commands (only IDSEL)
This usually means a stuck or open high order data/address line

I would first try cleaning the card/slot, trying an alternate slot
and then trying a different PC (just move the hard disk temporarily)
to see if its a 5I25 or PCI slot issue
