7i77 Analog Outputs 0&5 has voltage was created by JB-Motoring
Hey guys im very new to this forum- I am from Germany and currently retrofitting an old Chiron FZ12S with Simodrive 610 drives.
Everything is wired now- and the first problems come up :-D.
My Analogout shows me a +0,25 voltage on Aout0 and Aout5 when linuxcnc is running.
The pncconf wizzard lets me enter an offset value for that (DAC) but it doesn't write the entered values in the hal or ini files.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
Another problem is, that when I say S7100 M3 (Max rpm=+10V) it comes to a ccw movement of the spindle, so it spins in the opposite direction then it should.
How do I change that ?
Thank you in advance, I hope that there is someone who can help me )))
Have a nice weekend!

You should not have an offset greater than about 10 mv _if_ the analog output
has a 0 command, if the analog out command is 0 and you get 0.250V there is
either an issue with the 7I77 or perhaps external wiring (check again when the 7I77 unconnected to any external device)
When you measure the offset of analog out 0, what is the value of
hm2_CARD.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0?
(you can use halmeter to read this)
To change the sign an analog out you change the sign of the
hm2_CARD.0.7i77.0.1.analogoutN-scalemax value in the .ini file
say from 10 to -10
has a 0 command, if the analog out command is 0 and you get 0.250V there is

Hey PCW,
thanks for your quick reply!
If I disconnect the 7i77 from all external wiring it still shows 0.0230 (exactly) on Aout0 and Aout5.
Hal meter shows offset 0 on both pins.
Is there a mistake?
The card shows these values direct out of the box- I first tested it on the table without any external connections to it.
The values are stable, so when i say give it 7100 rpms =10v it shows 10.230V / -10V = -9.770Volts.
Below I attached the Hal and ini files.
Thank you

0.0230 or 0.250 ?
also are you measuring from the AOUT pin to the GND pin on TB5?

EDIT:
Jeeeez...I had connected TB2 PIN1 +28V from the machine & Pin 8 to GND of the machine.
Disconnected TB2 and the values turned down to 0V......
So the problem is anywhere with the TB2 connector?

Unlikely since the field I/O section is completely isolated from the analog section
(Note that should not connect TB2 when power is supplied= live plug )

Sooo,
I have tested it on the bench, without any other connectors than TB2 and TB1.
And i also created a new pncconf for my config.
NOW it shows 0V when resetted- S7100 M3 Shows 10,00V )))))))
I will now try it again with the +28V of the machine- i will give it a try and answer how it went .
Thank you for your help- great forum!
