I have one each of the following:
7i76, 7i77, 7i74.

Should the applicable file be:
7i76e_7i76x1_7i77x1D.bit

Or should I be looking for a file like
7i76e_7i76x1_7i77x1D_7i74.bit ?

Thanks.

Further to my recent comment/question.

The 7i74 will have remote IO cards 7i70 and 7i71 (digital IN and Digital Out) cards on the bus.
Thanks

Do you have a 7i76 or 7i76E, they are not the same when firmware is concerned.

Ok, 7i76E has two IDC26 pin headers if i remember correctly, so both 7i77 and 7i74 will need IDC26 to DB25 cables/connectors.
Firmware should be something like 7i76e_7i77_7i74 but if there is nothing like that in the downloaded files from the Mesa 7i76e web, you can politely ask PCW if he can do something.
7i74 needs adding a line in hal to use all sserial ports, that is it, the 7i70, 7i71 etc will be autimaticaly recognised and used, but you still have to add pin assignments though .

If you have a 7I76E and a 7I77 and just 2 SSerial daughter cards,
you don't actually need the 7I74, since both the 7I76E and the 7I77
have a SSerial expansion port available

Hello,

I've attached the design for the components I have
eg PCW I have 4 daughter boards. I might end up with 6 depends on the final volume of IO (inputs and outputs) I need to operate the machine.  4 is the bare min from a physical/geographical location point of view.

So if I can get the firmware,
eg something like 7i76e_7i77_7i74

Then the HAL needs manual adjustment
eg 7i74 needs adding a line in hal to use all sserial ports, that is it, the 7i70, 7i71 etc will be automatically recognized and used,

I'm dont understand this comment "but you still have to add pin assignments though"?
Is this pin assignment in the HAL file also?

Thanks Peter, loaded the Firmware, and the LED on the 7i77 looks good.

Haven't got the commands sorted that show the IO available from the hardware eg something like show pin *7i77*
