Hi, haven't been on for a while, as I have only been using my cnc machine occasionally, but I have recently wanted to add some laser cross hairs for aligning the xy position more easily. I have been following some old videos by swolebo to assist but am stuck at step 1.
I have a mesa 5i25 card connected to a gecko g540 driver, I want to use the gecko output 2 to drive the crosshairs on/off, this output is connected to the mesa board db25 via pin 1.
mesa io0 is the output to control this pin so my code is...
setp hm2_5i25.0.gpio.000.is_output true
net laser motion.digital-out-00 => hm2_5i25.0.gpio.000.out
so using mdi g64 p0 does turn motion.digital-out-00 true and g65p0 turns it false but nothing happens to the g540 output 2,
not sure if it's a software or hardware issue as I cannot physically get to the db25 pin1 to test it
any help as always is greatly appreciated

You could check the 5I25 pin 1 output when disconnected from the G540

Thanks for the quick reply PCW, I went to try that, forgetting that when I unplug the cable I open the estop line so no power to run the commands, BUT.... as I was doing this I heard the relay I had connected to the gecko output click on and off as I moved the cable, sure enough I have a faulty db25 cable, just my luck the only pin damaged is the one I needed - Murphy strikes again.
all good now with replacement cable
onto my next general question in another section
regards... Eric
