I will check for "dialout".
But I don't have any permission error, only communication errors.

After a very long pause, I got back to my troubleshooting.
I desolder the rs485 chip from the cpu board of the VFD and put a max485 from Maxim. And it is now working like a charm !!!
With or without GND , with the USB adapter and with the RS232!
No terminaison resistor needed !

I put every back to my workshop and reconnect the 2.2kw spindle, limit switches and so ...Fire linuxcnc. gladevcp panel shows the proper parameters and Modus communication is now green
But after homing, I can't start the spindle using AXIS spindle control buttons. Neither with MDI command M3 S10000
The VFD debug file shows no error.(see attached file).
I quickly changed the VFD to select the control mode (PD001 and PD002 ) to "front panel" and every this is fine: the RUN button starts the spindle, the potentiometer adjust the speed and STOP ... stop.
It's been a long time since I worked on this so I must be missing something obious but I can't figure out what

This editor is hopeless, it ends quoted text at an emoki, so I had to edit this quote by hand.
The first step would be to make sure that the correct veluaes arebeing sent to the spindle control HAL component. i.e. rather downstream of what you already posted.

After all my tests, I could not find anything else to try. Someone, in a very old post, fix the same kind of problem this way, but at the moment I can't source it
What led you think was the problem?

Many thanks for your help
