Hi
while trying out the pnconfig program, i noticed there is a limit on some of the input box's for axis config screen
while in metric mode i found
on axis screen setups
when you press the caculate button there is an encoder limit of 5000 pp/rev
on main screen for axis setups.
there is a limit of 1000 mm/sec^2 for max accell
and
1000mm/min for max velocity.
did not get a change to try out other box's after finding these tree

yes 1000mm/mn is only about 39 inches per min.
what would be better limits for these?

Hi
well most of machines i am doing here are around the 10-20M/min limit.. but does there need to be a limit?
i cant see any one doing anything more than 100M/Min with Liniear ways
a accell limit if you need one, i find any more than 2000-2500 things get a bit jerky with short moves... so 3000 might be a nice limit here? i know a new CNC machine they clame 1.5G accell but how true it is i do not know....
encoder limit. new servo drives i picked up have a max of 17-bit incremental or absolute encoder = 131072P/R
thanks for looking into it..

There is a limit because I'm pretty sure GLADE (the gui builder program pncconf uses for the screen) requires it.
I will raise the limts as soon as I get time - I'm having some problems with glade in Ubuntu 10.04.
Thanks for reporting the bug and giving me guide lines.
Otherwise are you finding pncconf helpful?
