I have Debian 10 with Linuxcnc 2.8 installed on my system. I'm using a mesa 7i92T etho card and a 7177 combination. When I run the pnc config wizard and try to start linuxcnc I get a termination error and the system shuts down. I have tried many different things but ultimately I get the same result with different errors. I'm hoping someone has done this and can give me some guidance. I have used mesaflash and I can access the 7i92T so I know they are communicating. All the lights on both boards are working. The cr16 red light stays on constantly so the watchdog is not releasing. I'm new to linux and mesa boards. Any help would be appreciated.

All jokes aside, what error? We can not guess stuff from here from your "it just terminates"!
In the mean time, check for 5V to Mesa 7i77, is it powered from Mesa 7i92 or from another power supply?
Does the Mesa 7i77 also have field power of 8-28V?
Do you have the Mesa 7i92T or 7i92TM?

Okay! The program shows linuxcnc is terminating in the message box. It gives unknown command error. I have a 7i92TM board but Mesaflash will only find it if I use 7i92T or ETHER. My voltage is good. I have 5 volts at the encoder and 24 volts at Vin. All of the lights are working on both boards. I will try to post my error report.

Just wondering if anyone would have a good recommendation for a PCIE ethernet card that would work well with my 7i92 and 7i77. I can't seem to get the speeds I need from the on board ethernet port on my system. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

What current Ethernet hardware do you have and what OS?
The results of these commands should show this.
lspci | grep -i ether
and
uname -a
Also what PC hardware do you have?

That should be OK,
Do you have IRQ coalescing disabled?
This is described in the hm2_eth manual page:
man hm2_eth
What is your current servo thread rate?
