7i92T with 7i77 linuxcnc keeps terminating

Hi PCW,
Coalescing is definitely part of my problem. When I change it in the terminal it is only allowing me a temporary change. The ping times are much better but change after reboot. I tried following the instructions in the manual but for some reason I'm not doing something right. I don't know what keys to use in the terminal to edit the interfaces file. When I try to edit it I keep accumulating temporary .swp files. The key commands don't seem to make a lot of sense to me in the terminal edit environment.

What editor are you using? gedit, geany or xedit should all be fine

say

cd /etc/network
sudo xedit interfaces

I tried xedit, Vim, and Geany. None of them will let me save the changes to the interfaces file. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

did you use sudo?

Strange...Here is the exact sequence I used just now to edit the interfaces file:

It worked this time. I missed the space after cd the first time. Thank You!
