Yes. the UPF and DRV outputs are sinking (pulldown) outputs
If you wish to wire these tot a 7I96S isolated input you would
need to connect the 7I96S input common (TB3 pin 12) to +24V
and the 24V supply common to DCM.

The VFD's FOR and REV inputs must be grounded to activate
so you would connect for example:

7I96S OUT4+ --> VFD FOR
7I96S OUT4-  --> DCM

Ive got the 7i96s input connected to the PSU +24v (i redid all the limits etc) but the DCM terminal of VFD is connected to the Out0- pin (for the enable function).  Is it ok to have both the Out0- and the 7i96s isolated input connected to DCM on the VFD?  I dont see any other way for it to get both.  I actually need to do two additional inputs.

The outputs are fully isolated from the inputs and each other
so there is no issue with any output connection (as long as their
polarity and voltage/current limitations are respected)

Excellent. Ive connected inputs from VFD, so now on to programming mesa to stop program if any signal is sent to the input.

My new question is, what assignment should be made in pncconf for that pin in order to stop everything?

Since I cant use the [ESTOP In] assignment, will the [Abort] assignment do what im seeking? See the screenshot of where it is in the wizard.
