pncconfig wizard firmware drop down was created by metalmayhem
I'm considering dropping pathpilot from my tormachs and I might cross over to linuxcnc . Theres a random quirk with pathpilot and I'm nearly done dealing with it
The cards I have are 5i25 and they are on pcnc440's . I've been searching for a few answers and I'm sort of finding myself going around in circles . I've seen screen caps in the forum where guys show the wizard drop down menu having firmware for mx3660 . I'm assuming guys have downloaded and placed a file somewhere for the wizard to pick it up but I'm not clear on how they achieved that . Or was it a drop down option at one time and no longer there ?
The mx3660 setup still won't provide a perfect pin match for my mills , but , it's close enough that I should be able to edit the rest to match the pinout of my cards that have already been flashed for the tormachs . Otherwise I think I may have a bit more editing to do if I go with the available g540x2 which is available in the wizard

You can use pncconfs "discover" option to work with whatever firmware you have.

ok thats good to know thanks .
I did a little bit of searching on that , am I correct that the wizard will pick up the firmware that is already on the card , then work with that pinout for setting up the rest ? If so then that'll save me a lot of time .
I just installed on vmware last night to see whats new and see how much work I'll have to cross them machines over . I'll get it installed on a pc so that I can dig more into it and do it properly
