Ok, I'm working on it. Looks like the subroutine for the profile will have to be numbers only to pass it to the main subroutine... I think.

John,
Now that the power is back on...
That is what I believe, however naming the files with a number is not the end of the world.
I am also in the process of adding a safe X travel dimension and a safe Z position.
I need to head back out to the shop now but I will research this when I get back.
It would also be neat to automate some of dimensions such as the smallest diameter.
It seems this type of operation could also be used on a mill.

Well, that didn't work out like I wanted. So I have the g71.ngc subroutine taking in all the parameters and handling the work offsets and all the logic. In the loop it just calls a subroutine called "profile". This can have the actual profile or just call the profile.

John,
I think I have it working calling a numbered file. I will post in the morning after I give it a test.

Morning John,
This seems to work on my machine in demo mode with subroutine calling a numbered file. The numbered file must be a sub also. I need to add safe travel positions and clean things up but I think it is on it's way. I have a busy week at work but will try to work on this later in the week.
Thanks,
Rick

My internet has been down since last night...
I'll give it a try as soon as I'm done with this job on the lathe.
