Theres also the possibility that OpenGL 3.2 is not supported by your Graphic hardware
(too old) I ran into this on a HP DC7800, about the same vintage as your Dell Optiplex 755...

The fix is a newer computer or adding a video card.

Thanks for all the replies and help. I'll have to order a Graphics card or look at a new PC. The Dell optilex was probably ok for running mesa cards on axis but if want to use the newer GUI's then a new pc is on the cards.

Sorry to clog up this thread, I'll post a new one once I have got the new card or PC. Thanks again.

Hi!

Many thanks for the excellent piece of software!
I had run
cd ~
git clone https://github.com/jethornton/mill_touch_v6.git
cd mill_touch_v6
pip install -e .
cp -rv ~/mill_touch_v6/mill_touch_v6 ~/linuxcnc/configs/
cat ~/mill_touch_v6/scripts/.xsessionrc >> ~/.xsessionrc

Where should I create my ini file? Inside "~/linuxcnc/configs/mill_touch_v6" ?
Is it enough to change in Axis mill ini sample file (which could be taken as a template) "DISPLAY = qtpyvcp VCP = mill_touch_v6", in order to run mill touch v6 as demo?

Yes you need to create a normal LinuxCNC configuration file and set the display and vcp options in the ini.

Sorry for the concern, the question is closed. I just added an action button and registered the run-from-line action. Everything works.

The action program.run has an option for the line number. The first example is a hard coded line number so not too useful, the second line gets the number from a qLineEdit. Very soon we will have a context menu in the gcode editor so you can right click on a line and select run from line. We actually have that working on a branch right now just waiting for it to be merged into master.
program.run:100
program.run:#<qLineEditName>

I did as in the screenshot. I copied the button from the probe_basic interface and pasted it into mine.
