Controller without physical keyboard? was created by vmihalca
Hi guys,
I bought an elo touch display for my cnc controller, and I would like to add only the estop, feed overrides and few other buttons, without a keyboard.
Now I am using gmoccapy but I kinda have some issues with it fully using it without a mouse and keyboard.
Are there any other UI's suitable for not using a keyboard and mouse at all?
I looked at the QT ui's but it seems to me they are quite in development yet.
Thx

I used Touchy for years on my BP mill which comes with LinuxCNC. I now use a QtPyVCP GUI that I created. You will still need a keyboard and mouse for the occasional odd things like updating the OS etc.

Touchy sounds like the sort of thing you want. I use it on both my machines.
The MDI interface is interesting, it is G-code aware and knows what letters you might want to use.
I keep a tiny bluetooth keyboard in a holster on the side of the machine. Not for use with the UI, but for when i need to do something in Linux (like look at a web-page to remind myself of the Morse angles etc) www.amazon.co.uk/Rii-K01X1-Mini-Wireless...board/dp/B01G6XGLQQ/
