Adding HAL Gremlin Plus widget causes glade crash

I am going through BigJohnT's tutorial at

gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/gui/gui02a.html

I am adding the HAL Gremlin Plus widget to my gui2.glade file and it causes glade to crash. This happens every time I add it to the window. I have tried to add it to different parts of the window and it crashes no matter where I add it.

Has anyone ran across this before?

yes, but I don't remember if there was a work around.
The editor can be flaky.
adding actions can be problematic, work around this by right click and add as a top level widget.
What version of Glade are you using?

Thanks for the reply. I am using Glade 3.8.0

I tried the add Gremlin widget as top level option and it also caused crash.

I have been able to add other actions as top level on the same glade file. Gremlin seems to be the main culprit.

does the regular gremlin work?

Yes the regular Gremlin does work. I was looking for it yesterday and I guess I was overlooking it in the tool tray.

after your done you could hand edit the GLADE file and switch gremlin for gremlin plus.
