Hey Hey,

it might be a stupid question for you but i am a bloody rookie in the whole story. never worked with linux, no experience in programming.
however my mill works....partially:)

my question now is: in the integrators manual they say:

Run the same panel as a tab inside Axis as follows:

$ cd configs/sim/gladevcp
$ linuxcnc gladevcp_tab.ini

where do i have to write these commands in?
i read something about git?what is it?

Usually when you see the dollar sign it means things you typed into the terminal window. And indeed those are terminal commands. For more info on that read here .

Unless you require a more complex Virtual Control Panel I would suggest starting with Python VCP it is a much simpler interface to add and use.

In a terminal window. However I am not sure why the instructions say to do it that way, as it is equivalent to selecting LinuxCNC from the application menu, then selecting the sim/gladevcp configuration.

That is left over from when you could only get 2.5 as a git RIP.
