Newbie ... Where is Glade? was created by Ivan_The_Red
Im using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS which I loaded some time ago and Id like to experiment with creating my own user interface. Unfortunately Im not proficient enough to find out how to start the Glade program or even find it for that matter. Do I need to install a newer version ? Or can someone help me out? The Linuxcnc version is 2.5.0 if that helps
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks Chris, the computer I have is not connected to the internet....Ive tried to get that to work also but cant seem to make that happen either. Do you know if the new Linuxcnc download includes glade . For me to download that, burn it and reinstall Linux seems easier at this point because of my inability to get the internet to work.

no the glade editor is not included.
There are ways to bring packages across on a memory disc but it's not really newbie stuff:
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Instal...n_an_offline_machine
The other options are getting the network to work or
transfer the hardrive to another machine and downloading the software.
Is it the wireless or wired network you are trying?

you may find wireless works after you connect to a wired network and update.
Sorry I've never used a USB wireless device.
