GTK3 Ever?

A project I started a couple of years ago was a machine using a custom GUI with GTK2 and gladevcp. I once started to update the GUI with the GTK3 branch but wound up putting it off as GTK3 was seemingly abandoned at the time.Is GTK3 ever going to be a thing in LinuxCNC?

It is far easier to port a GUI from GTK2 to GTK3 than it is to start from scratch with QT, besides the fact that I've never been able to get the hang of QT and Glade is just easy.

i have heard of work on GTK3 (besides mine of a long time ago) but not seen anything official - certainly won't be in linuxcnc 2.8.
I moved on and built QTvcp - it's pretty similar to GLADEvcp.

We should be able to limp GTK2 along for a bit longer if we care to do the extra work.
