Homing sequence. was created by usert_l
Hello,

I have a question about possibly modifying the homing sequence and wonder if someone could help me out. I've a small lathe converted to LinuxCNC. I've got the X and Z axes to home OK w/o any issue. Now on my lathe's cross slide I currently have one tool mounted to cut in front of the stock and one behind, sort of like a gang tooling set up. Except that they are separate tool holders and not a single block holding multiple cutters. I also need to have the tail stock sticking out to support long piece of stock. Right now when I click home the machine starts with the Z axis (along the lathe bed) first then move on to the X axis (cross slide) ... But my preference is to have the X axis homed first before the machine starts homing the Z axis. This would prevent any chance the machine can crash if one of the tool holders is not in the right position and run into the tail stock. Is that something possible to do?

Thanks,
-Tim

You do this by changing the home sequence numbers in your .ini file
