I would wait for confirmation from PCW on this.
I think that it is P1 (Low) to Spindle -, P3 (High) to Spindle+ and P2 to spindle-out. The analogue output of the 7i76 is actually a digital potentiometer.
I don't know if you can use I1 and I2 to operate the spindle enable.
What did you base your diagram on?

I followed what was shown/described in the manual. Page 6 of my manual says that for voltage following analog signal connect between P2 and F-. I would have thought the same as you, to connect to P1, P2, and P3, so that is the main source of my confusion.

Yes, you are right for voltage following, but the 7i76e has an isolated digital potentiometer.
And in voltage following mode the supply voltage has to be an isolated supply (not referenced to frame earth) as P3 is referenced to spindle+.

The ref voltage is 0-7VDC. You could just neg to pin1 and spindle out pin 2. Which is basically emulating a pot. May have to drop voltage with a resister, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I think that pin 1 is at +100V, you need to be very careful with it.
Which is why I suggest not connecting anything but KBIC potentiometer terminals to the isolated digital potentiometer on the 7i76.

I swapped the wiring to follow Andy's recommendation of using P1, P2, and P3 and it worked like a charm. The scale is still off from only being fed 5v, but with only 2000 rpm it isn't too big of a deal. I need to read through the KBIC manual again to see if there is a scale adjustment, but if not I'll look at getting and adjustable PSU Failing that, solder in a resistor to a fixed 10v psu.

I think that there are potentiometers on the board to adjust the speeds.

KB electronics has card model SI-5 (P/N 9443). the card provides isolation for external potentiometer Input.

How exactly did you wire this up? I have the same speed control and it works fine from a pot but when I connect P1 P2 and P3 to the isolated digital pot on the 7i76 I don't get any control.
