Direction of stepper motor changes between startrups was created by hanskuster
Hi all,
I have a configuration for tests. To keep it simple I setup 1 axis only for now.
After startup of LinuxCNC the direction of the stepper is not always the same. Sometimes the "+" and "-" are changed. The direction remains that way until a next startup or even several startups.
What is wrong with my setup or what could cause this direction swaps?
Because I setup the X-axis only, I attached the config part for that only.
Regards, Hans

Check the motor wiring to drive.
Check for loose connections on the drive connectors.
What drive?
What interface?

thanks for Your time, but I could narrow down the problem to the controller. I use Novosun EC500 with the Remora firmware.
controller:
www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002253809296.html
Firmware:
github.com/scottalford75/Remora-RT1052-cpp
I connected an LED to the direction output and this LED sometimes blinks when the motor doesn't move. This is probably part of the problem.
I will ask this question again in a thread specific for the Remora firmware.
Thanks again for Your answer!
Regards, Hans
